Acadia National Park, Blue, full moon photography, Maine photography, photography challenge, post a week 2012
Last week, I spent the week in Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, Maine.
I was there attending my most favorite Photography Workshop, Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures.
The first day I arrived, I actually was there for a Lightroom 4 Training, but after working hard all day, we got the added bonus of being able to go out and shoot the Full Moon. This Full Moon is actually the largest we have seen, and will see again, for some time…so it was worth the effort, for sure.
This weeks challenge seemed to fit with this photograph, quite nicely!

This week’s challenge comes at the perfect time.
First of all, I am a Reflections Freak when it comes to photographing. I LOVE them and love photographing them just as much.
This week, I am in Acadia National Park, in Maine at my favorite Photography Class with some of my most favorite people! The couple that teaches this workshop work you 18+ hours a day, challenge you and your abilities as a Photographer, and at the same time are caring, warm, fun and funny to spend a LOT of time with in the course of 5 days!
Reflections have always intrigued me. They are such a great representation of what it is they are reflecting, yet they give you a mirror image, that is often skewed, and just a touch out of focus. Sometimes this makes it easy to interpret the true representation of the photograph, and other times, not so much. The mystery it creates can sometimes be quite mesmerizing to the eye of the beholder!
Therefore, I have had the opportunity to do what I love, in one of the most beautiful places (I think) in the United States. The Maine coast line is filled with rocks and colors that can’t really be found anywhere else. It sets this area apart from others, making it unique and special.
Last year when I was at this class, it rained the entire week. My photographs captured the rain, fog, and drama of weather’s ever changing possibilities. I learned so much, and took away lessons that will last a lifetime.
This week, we got 2 whole days without rain when we first arrived, and we took advantage of this gift. The photographs this year, are beautiful and dramatic in a different way! These are just a few of the images from the workshop with Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures, that I felt represented this weeks challenge.
