It is funny how you get into Photograhy just thinking that everything will line up for you when you need it to, the lighting, the weather, the timing of your image ….well, you quickly learn this is not always the case, at least I did!
Last summer, I took a Photography class with Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures. One night we went out to photograph this Lighthouse in New Harbor. When we arrived, the light of the Lighthouse was on, shining bright. As the sun set, so did the light shining from the top of that beautiful Lighthouse. What is a lighthouse, without its light?
What does a Photographer do when the shot you were waiting hours for, just faded away. I quickly learned that you improvise. Owners of BCPA, Margo and Arnie used their years of wisdom as photographers to teach us that when you are in a situation that would otherwise seem hopeless, a little creativity and luck can carry you.
The result …. a photograph that was created with improvision, but without, there would have been no photograph at all!
